Knowledgebase:
Unreal Engine 4 is not using IncrediBuild for builds even though IncrediBuild is installed

When executing Unreal Engine 4 based builds, start the build process using your usual build command or the regular "Build" option in Visual Studio instead of using the IncrediBuild Build option. Once you start your build the way you would without incrediBuild, it automatically checks if IncrediBuild is there. If it is, IncrediBuild will automatically be used for your build.

If your build still doesn’t execute with IncrediBuild check the following:

  1. Please check that file BuildConfiguration.xml in the Unreal Engine based solution has the following settings applied to it:

<bAllowXGE>true</bAllowXGE>

<bXGEExport>false</bXGEExport>

  1. Please check that the IncrediBuild installation folder "C:\Program Files (x86)\Xoreax\IncrediBuild" is part of your PATH environment variable.

We suggest restarting your machine to make sure the PATH is indeed updated.

IncrediBuild should now be used when executing your Unreal Engine based builds.

Note:

For Unreal Engine 4, IncrediBuild only accelerates your C++ code and shaders.
