Windows firewall is enabled by default starting from the Windows XP Service Pack 2 release.
IncrediBuild automatically configures the Windows Firewall for IncrediBuild use. In some cases, this automatic configuration might fail due to firewall setting causing the Agent connectivity problems. If this is the case, here's how to manually configure the firewall:
During Setup IncrediBuild automatically opens the ports necessary for access through Windows Firewall. In the case that the automatic configuration fails here is how to manually open the necessary ports.
1. Open the Agent Settings dialog "Network" page.
2. Select the "Use these ports" option.
3. Open the selected ports in the firewall. For every additional processor used by this Agent, open a port numbered after the "Secondary" port + 1 (example: 31107 for the second CPU, 31108 for the third, etc.).
1. Open port 31104 (or any other port that was configured in the Coordinator Settings dialog) in the Windows firewall.
