Agent(s) not being assigned to builds - possible causes
Posted by - NA -, Last modified by Yoni Davidson on 27 December 2017 09:13 AM

Possible Causes:

The most common reason an Agent or multiple Agents are not assigned to a build is not meeting the minimum system requirements.

To check if the minimum system requirements are met:

  1. Open the Coordinator window.
  2. Select "View" from the dropdown menu, and click on "Columns."
  3. Check if any of the following columns appear in red from within the Coordinator:
    • Physical Memory
    • Virtual Memory
    • Avail CPU
    • Disk Space
  4. If any of the following columns are in red, this is why the Agent will not participate in the IncrediBuild infrastructure.

If none of the above columns are in red, run a build and contact support at with the information shown in the "Status" column for each Agent that doesn't participate in the build process.

Another common cause is a connectivity issue between the Initiator machine and the Helper machine. In this case, you should see the following warning error in the messages tab for the Build Monitor: ""Failed to connect to NNN.NNN.NNN.NN (port 31105)."

To verify if it is a connectivity issue with IncrediBuild that is causing the problem, try the following:

1. Install Telnet or Putty client on the Initiator machine.
2. Using Telnet or Putty, try connecting to port 31105 on the problematic Helper machine.
3. In case you are unable to connect to this port, please consult your IT since the problem is not related to IncrediBuild. If you are able to connect, please contact IncrediBuild support for further assistance.
